Got
'im, got 'im, need 'im, got 'im....
In 1980,
The
Little Rascals showed up in a series of trading cards whose backs
could be peeled off to turn them into stickers. The cards featured
scenes from MGM era episodes such as "Kiddie Kure", "The
New Pupil", and "Football Romeo".
To the images were added "dialogue balloons", portraying
the kids saying some generally sophomoric remarks that seemed to match
the action portrayed in the images: "Don't step in it",
"Who didn't use deodorant", "Take a bath, dirtball",
and the like.
Since the MGM episodes were not as popular with kids (or adults) as
were the episodes from the Hal Roach era, these cards with the comic
"enhancements" represented an attempt to squeeze as much
mileage out of the lackluster MGM years as possible.
